The hidden treasure

http://www.coloridellavita.com/racconti . cfm? tid = 506

An honest old man lived for years in the harshest poverty. It had nothing except his miserable hut with a stove inside and a few other things.
One night he visited a strange dream: a voice from behind a door told him to take a long journey to a foreign city.
There, under the bridge of the castle of the king, he would find a buried treasure.
The next day the poor man was very astonished by the dream so bizarre that it pretended to leave for a place so remote and, moreover, no means of transportation and livelihood.
But during the following nights, the dream was repeated.
So, taking the courage to four hands, he decided to start walking towards the city indicated in the dream.
After many days of walking and after a number of obstacles along the way, finally reached its destination.
But once he discovered one thing that discourages many: the bridge was day and night watchmen patrolled the real.
He could not get to dig in the spot indicated.
So every morning, returning in place until sunset watching the situation: maybe the guards would be removed and he could dig.
few days later, the captain of the guards noticed his comings and goings and intrigued to him. In
polite tone he asked: "good man, some days I see you coming and going close to the real bridge. Can I help you? You're waiting for someone or maybe you lost something?"
The old man, who was a simple man, the officer told the dream that drove him from there.
"Poor man," laughed the captain;
"You really worn your shoes to come from so far away just to listen to a dream? You really are a sucker! If I was like you now I'd be wasting my time wandering in the opposite direction. Some time ago, in fact, a voice urged me to go in a dream in your country in search of an enormous hidden treasure under the stove of a miserable hut where he lived an honest old man who lived for many years in the harshest poverty. Imagine, "he said, still laughing about that story
that he seemed so funny.
" But can you imagine seeing me come down there and mess up all the huts of the poor country in search of an elusive treasure? But, fortunately, I am not a type that he listens to the dreams or inner voices! "
The old man, after listening to him with trepidation dissumilata, saluted the officer thanking him for what he had said.
He went back so hastily in the direction of home.
Once arrived, he began to dig beneath the stove.
discovered a priceless treasure that lay there forever, in the place where he had lived all his life.
That huge fortune put an end to his tribulations.
But it took that long journey to discover the treasure.
